Murrayville is a small farming town of about 600 people in central Illinois, 45 miles west of Springfield on Route 104. The area features typical Midwest prairie farmland with corn and soybean fields. Visitors usually arrive via Route 104 from Springfield or Route 267 from Jacksonville. The town's historic 1868 one-room schoolhouse still stands as a local landmark.
