Murdock is a tiny farming town of 228 people in southeastern Nebraska, about 30 miles from both Omaha and Lincoln. Highway 50 runs right through town, making it an easy drive from either city through rolling farmland. Most traffic consists of locals heading to nearby Greenwood or Ashland for work. The town's massive grain elevator from the 1950s still towers over Main Street and operates during harvest season.
