Munford is a small Alabama city of 1,500 people located along Interstate 20, about 45 miles east of Birmingham. Take Exit 188 off I-20 to reach downtown via Highway 21, which also connects north to Talladega National Forest and south to Anniston. The rolling Appalachian foothills create scenic drives year-round, and Munford serves as the main gateway to Cheaha State Park, which contains Alabama's highest peak.
