Mulvane is a farming community of 6,000 people located 20 miles south of Wichita via US Highway 81. The straight shot down US-81 takes about 25 minutes through open prairie, making it a popular route for daily commuters to Wichita. The town hosts an annual Wheat Festival each June, complete with a Main Street parade and the crowning of a Wheat Queen.
