Mountain View is a small Wyoming town of about 1,200 people in Uinta County, sitting at 6,800 feet elevation along the old pioneer trail route. Reach it via Highway 414 from Interstate 80 at Fort Bridger (12 miles east) or directly from Utah to the south. It's a common waypoint for cross-country travelers, with Evanston 25 miles northwest and Salt Lake City 90 miles away. The 1907 stone schoolhouse still stands as the town's most recognizable landmark.
