Mountain Pine is a small city of 555 people nestled in Arkansas's Ouachita Mountains, about 10 miles southwest of Hot Springs via Highway 270. The town sits among rolling pine forests at 600 feet elevation, with easy access to Lake Ouachita recreation areas. Most visitors arrive on day trips from Hot Springs or longer routes from Little Rock via I-30 and Highway 270. The town's streets are still lined with the native shortleaf and loblolly pines that inspired its name.
