Mountain City is a small mountain town of about 1,000 people serving as Rabun County's seat in northeast Georgia's Blue Ridge Mountains. Located where Georgia meets North and South Carolina, it sits along US 441, the main north-south route connecting Atlanta (two hours south) to the Great Smoky Mountains region. The 1906 courthouse clock tower remains the town's most recognizable landmark on the historic square.
