Mount Washington is a suburban community of 18,480 people located 25 miles southeast of Louisville via Interstate 265. US Highway 31E runs through downtown, connecting to Louisville and Bardstown, while Route 44 provides east-west access. The city sits in rolling Bluegrass hills and serves as a gateway to bourbon country. It originally hosted the Kentucky State Fair before Louisville took over in 1908.
