Mount Pleasant is a small college town in southeastern Iowa, about 25 miles from Burlington and accessible via US Highway 218 from Interstate 80. The city serves as Henry County's seat and hosts Iowa Wesleyan University. Highway 27 provides the main east-west route, while 218 connects north to Iowa City and south toward the Mississippi River. Ronald Reagan once worked here as a radio announcer, recreating Cubs games from telegraph reports.
