Mount Oliver is a tiny borough completely surrounded by Pittsburgh, home to about 3,300 people packed into less than a square mile along the Monongahela River. Access is via I-376 with exits at Brownsville Road or West Carson Street, or Route 51 along the eastern edge. Downtown Pittsburgh is just three miles north, while Pittsburgh International Airport sits 25 miles west. Despite being entirely enclosed by Pittsburgh, Mount Oliver maintains its own police department.
