Mount Morris is a small city of 2,700 people in northwestern Illinois, about 100 miles west of Chicago along the Rock River. Take I-88 west to Dixon, then head north through Ogle County farmland, or use US Route 20 from Rockford connecting to IL Route 2 south. The area experiences typical Midwest winters with regular snow and freezing temperatures. Mount Morris hosts the popular Sinnissippi Music Shell summer concert series in an outdoor amphitheater overlooking the Rock River.
