Mount Joy is a small borough in Lancaster County, about 15 miles northwest of Lancaster city via Route 283. The town sits in Pennsylvania Dutch country with easy highway access from major cities. Route 283 runs right through town, connecting to the Pennsylvania Turnpike and providing direct routes to Harrisburg, Lancaster, and Philadelphia. The 1888 railroad station still serves Amtrak's Pennsylvanian route.
