Mount Clemens, the Macomb County seat, sits 25 miles northeast of Detroit along the Clinton River. Take I-94 to Gratiot Avenue or Metro Parkway exits for direct downtown access. M-59 (Hall Road) provides east-west connections across the county, while Gratiot Avenue runs north-south to Detroit and the Thumb region. The city gained fame as "Bath City" in the 1800s when visitors came to soak in natural mineral baths that supposedly cured ailments.
