Moriarty is a small town of about 2,100 people on Interstate 40, roughly 40 miles east of Albuquerque. It sits at 6,000 feet elevation in New Mexico's high desert, making it a natural stopping point on the old Route 66 corridor. The town connects via I-40 to Albuquerque westbound and points east, with Highway 285 providing access north toward Santa Fe. Moriarty celebrates its agricultural roots each October with the Pinto Bean Fiesta.
