Morganza is a small Mississippi River town in Pointe Coupee Parish, about 30 miles northwest of Baton Rouge via Highway 1. Most visitors arrive from I-10 near Plaquemine, then drive north through sugar cane country on Highway 1. The town of 600 sits beside the massive Morganza Spillway, which can divert 600,000 cubic feet per second of river water during floods.
