Morganton is a small mountain community in North Georgia, about 90 miles north of Atlanta via US-515 and State Route 60. Located in Fannin County at over 2,000 feet elevation, it offers cooler mountain weather and serves as a gateway to the Blue Ridge region. The town sits along State Route 60, which connects south to Blue Ridge and north into North Carolina. Morganton features one of Georgia's historic covered bridges, the Watson Mill Bridge from 1885.
