Moran is a small Texas town of about 260 people in Shackelford County, roughly 20 miles northeast of Abilene. Take I-20 west to Highway 6 north through Cisco, then Farm Road 576 east. Most visitors come from Abilene via US 283 north in about 30 minutes. The town's restored 1920s school building now serves as the community center and fire station.
