Moorhead is a small Delta town of 1,439 people in Mississippi's cotton country, about 90 miles northwest of Jackson via I-55 and US-82. The flat farmland stretches endlessly under big skies, with hot, humid summers and mild winters typical of the Deep South. US-82 runs right through town connecting to Greenwood and other Delta communities, while Highway 3 provides north-south access. The town sits at the historic railroad crossing made famous in blues music as "where the Southern cross the Dog."
