Montrose is a small farming community in central Michigan, about 20 miles northeast of Flint via State Route 57. The city of 2,000 sits amid rolling farmland with scattered lakes and woodlots. Most visitors arrive from Flint on M-57 or from Grand Blanc via Grange Hall Road, while I-75 provides distant highway access through Birch Run. The historic grain elevator, a towering concrete landmark visible across the flat countryside, still operates as a working agricultural facility.
