Montgomery is a small West Virginia city of about 1,500 people located 30 miles southeast of Charleston along the Kanawha River. Visitors typically arrive via US Route 60 from Charleston (45 minutes) or connect from Interstate 64 about 15 miles north. The town serves as a gateway to the New River Gorge region and features West Virginia's oldest railroad depot, built in 1889.
