Montgomery is a small Grant Parish city of about 940 people along the Red River in central Louisiana. Located on US Highway 165 between Shreveport and Alexandria, it's about 45 miles southeast of Shreveport and 90 miles northwest of Alexandria. Most visitors arrive via US 165 from Interstate 49, while Highway 126 handles local east-west traffic. The city sits along a dramatic bend in the Red River as it curves through the pine-forested hills of central Louisiana.
