Montezuma is the county seat of Gray County in southwestern Kansas, home to about 860 people. Located on US Highway 56, it's about 25 miles west of Dodge City, which serves as the main connection point for visitors from interstates or larger cities. The 1924 Gray County Courthouse with its red brick and white limestone trim dominates the town square as the community's most distinctive landmark.
