Monte Verde is a tiny mountain community of 19 people in Ponce municipality, reached via winding roads from PR-52 and PR-10. About 30 kilometers from Mercedita Airport, it sits in the cooler hills above the southern coastal plain. The settlement represents one of Puerto Rico's smallest named communities, offering a glimpse of rural mountain life away from the island's urban centers.
