Monte Sereno is a small hillside city in the Santa Cruz Mountains foothills, about 10 miles southwest of San Jose. Access it via Highway 17 from the north or south, or take Saratoga-Los Gatos Road from Highway 85. The city maintains a no-streetlight policy, keeping its residential streets darker than neighboring communities and preserving its rural mountain character.
