Monroe is a small farming town of about 700 people in northeastern Indiana, 15 miles southeast of Fort Wayne via State Road 124. Take I-469 around Fort Wayne, then SR-1 south and SR-124 west to reach it from most directions. The area sits amid rolling farmland typical of rural Indiana, with corn and soybean fields dominating the landscape. Monroe is home to one of Indiana's oldest Amish settlements from the 1840s.
