Mokane is a small Missouri River town in Callaway County, accessible via scenic Highway 94 that follows the river between Hermann and Jefferson City. Most visitors pass through on longer trips connecting to Interstate 70, though some use it for day trips from the capital city 25 miles away. The community still operates one of Missouri's last cable-stayed ferries across the river.
