Mitchellville is a small farming town in southeastern Arkansas's cotton country, about 120 miles from Little Rock via Highway 165. The main route goes through Pine Bluff on I-530, then south on US-65 before connecting east on Highway 165. Local trips typically head west 15 miles to Dumas for services. The town sits in the heart of the Arkansas Delta, where enormous cotton fields create a distinctive checkerboard landscape during growing season.
