Mission is a Johnson County suburb just southwest of Kansas City, straddling the Kansas-Missouri border. I-35 runs along its eastern edge with direct access to both Kansas City and Overland Park, while US 69 cuts through downtown connecting to the broader metro area. Popular routes include the quick 15-mile drive to downtown Kansas City and airport trips via I-435. The city houses the original 1960 Lamar's Donuts on Johnson Drive.
