Minturn is a mountain town of nearly 1,000 people at 7,800 feet elevation, serving as a gateway to Vail-area skiing and Eagle River recreation. Take I-70 Exit 171 or drive US Highway 24 through town, which connects to Leadville 30 miles south. The historic Minturn Saloon from 1901 still serves Mexican food in its original building.
