Mint Hill is a Charlotte suburb about 15 miles east of downtown, connected by Highway 51 and close to I-485. This Piedmont community of nearly 28,000 sits among rolling wooded hills with a humid subtropical climate. Major routes include Highway 24/27 to the north and I-485 for regional access, with Charlotte Douglas Airport 25 miles southwest. The town got its name from a 1800s grain mill where local farmers brought corn to be ground.
