Minnewaukan is a lakeside community of 191 people on Devils Lake's western shore in north-central North Dakota. Reach it via Highway 57 from US Highway 2, about 25 miles west of Devils Lake city and 180 miles from Fargo. The town sits where prairie grasslands meet North Dakota's largest natural lake, creating a unique setting for fishing and boating. Its Dakota name means "water of the spirits."
