Mineral Point is a historic mining town in southwestern Wisconsin, about 50 miles west of Madison via Highway 151. The route from Madison takes about an hour through rolling Driftless Area countryside. From Chicago, take I-90 west to Highway 151 north for roughly three hours. The town sits at the intersection of highways 151 and 23, with Highway 39 providing access south to Darlington. The highlight is Pendarvis, a collection of restored 1830s Cornish stone cottages built by immigrant miners.
