Minden is a farming town of 630 people in southwestern Iowa, about 30 miles northeast of Omaha. Take I-80 west to the Neola exit, then Highway 83 north to reach town. The area sits in Iowa's Loess Hills region with gently rolling farmland. Minden hosts an annual Maifest celebration each May featuring traditional German music and dancing that attracts visitors from across western Iowa.
