Milford is a tiny farming community of 54 people in southwestern Missouri's Barton County. Located about 15 miles northeast of Lamar via State Route 160, it sits among corn and soybean fields on rolling prairie. Most visitors arrive from Kansas City via US-71 south to Nevada, then Highway 54 west to Route 160. The community's grain elevator towers over the flat landscape, visible for miles across the surrounding farmland.
