Miles is a tiny farming town of 398 people in eastern Iowa's Jackson County. Highway 52 runs north-south through town, connecting to Sabula and the Mississippi River 12 miles south, or continuing north toward Bellevue. Most longer trips head to the Quad Cities via Highway 52 south to Interstate 80, about 45 miles away. The town's working grain elevator still dominates the skyline above the modest main street.
