Midway lies halfway between Lexington and Frankfort along US Route 62, making it a convenient stop in Kentucky's horse country. The small city of 1,776 serves commuters traveling between the two larger cities while offering visitors access to Bluegrass region attractions. Blue Grass Airport sits about 20 miles southeast via US 62 and US 60. The city literally got its name from being the midpoint on the old railroad between Lexington and Frankfort.
