Midlothian is a growing city 25 miles southwest of Dallas along US Highway 67, the main route connecting to the metroplex and points south. FM 663 runs north-south while FM 1387 handles east-west traffic to Waxahachie and Interstate 35E connections. The rolling prairie location offers good drainage and typical Texas weather. Known as the "Cement Capital of Texas," three major cement plants have operated here since the early 1900s using local limestone deposits.
