Michiana is a tiny lakefront community of 291 people right on the Michigan-Indiana border along Lake Michigan's shore. US Highway 12 is the main route through town, connecting west to Michigan City and east into Michigan's wine country. The most unique thing about this place is that the state line cuts right through residential neighborhoods, so you can literally walk from Michigan to Indiana in your backyard.
