This tiny Texas Panhandle town sits on US Highway 60, about 90 miles northeast of Amarillo and 40 miles from Pampa. The main route connects Oklahoma to New Mexico through endless High Plains country. Local traffic heads south on Highway 281 to Canadian or west to Pampa for services. Named after the Miami tribe, the town was founded when the railroad came through in 1887.
