Metamora is a small central Illinois city of about 4,100 people, located 20 miles east of Peoria via Route 116. Take I-74 to Exit 102, then head east on Route 116 for 8 miles. The town sits in rolling prairie farmland and serves as a quiet residential community with easy access to the Peoria area. Lincoln practiced law at the restored 1840s courthouse that now serves as a state historic site.
