Meta is a tiny rural community in central Missouri's Osage County, about 45 miles southwest of Jefferson City via Highway 50 and Route 133. With just 115 residents, it sits in rolling farmland near the Osage River. Most trips involve driving north to Linn for services or connecting to Highway 50 for longer journeys to Columbia or the Lake of the Ozarks. The town's name comes from the Greek word meaning "beyond."
