Merryville is a small Louisiana town of about 1,000 people in Beauregard Parish, 15 miles north of Texas. Highway 171 runs north-south through town, connecting to DeRidder and continuing toward Lake Charles. Most visitors come from Interstate 10 via the Highway 171 exit near DeRidder. The local economy revolves around the Merryville Lumber Company mill, which has operated since the early 1900s.
