Meridian is a tiny farming community in central New York's Cayuga County, reached via State Route 34 from Auburn about 15 miles south or from I-81 at Weedsport. The area sees mostly local traffic between rural properties and nearby towns. The hamlet sits on rolling farmland typical of the Finger Lakes region, with lake-effect winters and mild summers. Meridian gets its name from sitting on the principal meridian line used in New York State's original land surveys.
