Reach it via winding State Route 117 from Valley Head or County Road 89 from Fort Payne (20 miles). Atlanta visitors take I-59 north to mountain roads, while Birmingham drivers follow I-59 about 90 miles north. The steep, narrow roads require careful driving, especially during winter ice or summer storms. The town's post office operates from a 1930s log cabin, one of the few active log cabin post offices remaining in America.
