Menomonie is a college town in west-central Wisconsin, home to UW-Stout and about 16,500 residents. Take I-94 to Exit 41, about an hour from the Twin Cities or two and a half hours from Milwaukee. The Red Cedar River runs through town, creating a scenic valley setting. The standout attraction is the ornate 1889 Mabel Tainter Theater downtown, with its hand-painted ceilings and carved interior details.
