Mendon is a small farming town in western Illinois, about 15 miles northeast of Quincy on Highway 96. Most visitors drive through on routes connecting Quincy to Springfield via Interstate 72 and Highway 96. The town of 1,200 sits in rolling prairie country with a continental climate. A restored 1890s grain elevator still operates seasonally downtown, processing crops from local farms.
