Menasha straddles the Fox River where it flows from Lake Winnebago in Wisconsin's Fox Cities region. US Highway 10 connects it directly to Appleton three miles northeast, while Highway 114 links south to Oshkosh. Most visitors fly into Appleton International Airport, about 8 miles away. The downtown sits on an island between two river channels, and the city houses the Barlow Planetarium, one of northeastern Wisconsin's few public planetariums.
