Menard is a small Hill Country town of about 1,000 people where US 83 and State Highway 29 intersect. It's 20 miles north of Junction and serves as a stopping point between San Angelo and the I-10 corridor. The town sits among rolling limestone hills and is known for its historic 1876 stone jail that still stands on the courthouse square.
