Melrose is a suburban city seven miles north of Boston, easily reached via I-93 exits 33 or 35. The Orange Line's Oak Grove station sits on the city's edge, connecting to downtown Boston. Main Street runs through the historic center, while nearby Route 1 provides alternate access. The city's claim to fame is Victorian Village, where 32 authentic homes from the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition were relocated and still serve as residences today.
