Medford is a small city in north-central Wisconsin where Highway 13 and Highway 64 intersect. Most visitors drive up Highway 13 from Wausau, about 45 miles southeast. The town sits in farm and forest country with Taylor County Airport nearby for small planes. The big draw each August is the Taylor County Fair's massive demolition derby, one of Wisconsin's wildest car-smashing spectacles.
